7:07p Need my sub fix!
Anyone know of somewhere in town that you can get bánh mì (Vietnamese Subs)? I found a couple of trailer/stands in Portland, but man I need something closer to home to get the fix of that porkie, crunchy, spicy, sweet, fresh sub goodness.
Help?

11:11a Time bank
Just read the article today on the Register Guard online about the Emerald Valley Time Exchange - I didn't realize we had this here! A time bank is where everyone lists their skills and services that they can offer, and you get "points" for every hour you donate to someone, which you can exchange for an hour of services from anyone in the network. So you can spend two hours fixing someone's computer and later on get an hour-long massage and an hour of yard work done, or whatever you might need. Has anyone here participated in the EVTE? Any stories to share, warnings, advice? I'm definitely considering joining, but it's one of those systems that works best with more people, so I encourage others to join too! I love the idea of trading skills rather than money.

10:57a dancing recommendations tonight pretty please
Where might there be music for dancing tonight in Eugene for a couple dropping in from Portland for whom Aphex Twin and Muslimgauze are respectively the ultimate dance musics? Though we'll shake our hips to anything from IDM to bhangra to dnb to glitch to hiphop to insert genre label here to well... just about anything, long as it's got brains&heart&soul.

1:01p Books for Sale
I have two books that I want to sell. I got them as gifts from my book club, they were automatically sent to me so I didn't get to choose the authors. Tried to sell them to Smith Family but because they are book club books SF won't take them.
One is Danielle Steel's "One Day at a Time" and the other is Maeve Binchy's "Heart and Soul", I'm asking $15 for each book or if some one wants both I'll sell them 2 for $20.
I don't read works from either author and I'd rather not have the books sitting around cluttering up the house. If anyone is interested please let me know. Thanks.

1:15p Notification System
**FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009**
So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything.
And finally some answers to some questions:

9:50a This might be a long shot
My fiance and I want to get our Christmas tree this year, both because we don't have a ton of space, or a ton of ornaments, we want a little one, like less then 3 ft tall. Most Christmas tree lots only have big trees from what I've seen. Because of time issues, going out to a u-pick isn't an option. Anyone know of any lots that have little trees?

10:29p New Year's Eve?
Suggestions for a quiet, queerish, middle-aged couple for NYE? We're not into the club scene or loud music, but it might be nice to go someplace where we could get a little dressed up and be out with people, instead of our usual dozing off in front of the TV set before midnight...
